• About

david K. Thompson is a native New Mexican artist working in print, installation and photography, as well as an art historian concentrating on modern Central and Eastern Europe. His art analyzes cartography, landscape, machinery, propaganda, documents and other forms of æstheticised nationalism; it attempts to delineate psychological geographies and to redefine 'reality' in its absurdity. By the juxtaposition and deliberate misuse of geography, scientific aesthetics and political semiotics with found-object readymades his work questions classification, the existential nature of identity, and even the notion of art itself. david K. has recently been included in exhibitions and symposia curated by the Neue Slowenische Kunst group IRWIN. He currently lives and works in New England.
